Solitary Prayers
From this mound, where in the beginning no church ever was, a tear fell from heaven. It was a beautiful tear from the heart of God, and it refracted light like a prism. At that moment light could be split in many different dimensions. Light was a diamond. The pressure from the dark was almost crushing, but the dark only succeeded in adding to the pressure on the carbon that formed a champagne diamond.
The twelve spiritual dimensions that resulted, can only be understood as we understand prayer, particularly solitary prayer. Solitary prayer is not a token of our affection toward an unseen being, rather it is a deepening, widening circle—that takes in more friends the more time we spend alone with God. God is the one who invites and invites us first into his circle. This is the circle that was drawn around you when you first realized you did not fit in, that you were different. That first moment of utter rejection was the moment God drew his circle of light and your solitary prayers began.
We had no right to believe you would only pray if you had no other recourse; if you were in solitary confinement in the deepest darkest communist prison. This is where the visions begin, but the prayers began long before. If you kneel before bed every night as a child, and believe you’ll go to heaven, then your parents have blessed you in this world. If they cursed you, you could pray in solitary confinement night after night for the rest of your life, and you would not believe a word of help would be sent to your aid.
From the inner circle, the prayer began as a spark. Right at the heart of God, prayer began, and emanated outward to every being in the universe. There is no person untouched by prayer, no stone unturned by intercession. Every fire began this way. Every mouth has cried out God, asking for pity or in disdain. We know that by the end of time, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Solitary Prayers
Lord, give me prophetic vision.
Let me see what you see in people.
Let me hear their words as you hear them.
Let me understand your meaning in the symbols I see today.
Let me feel safe in your will.
Confirm to me that I am your child,
and you care about me.
Do not forget me, but minute by minute,
renew my life.
